NOT ON OUR WATCH: New Anti-Choice Group Launched in Colorado
Did you hear? National Right to Life has expelled Colorado Right to Life from its organization after the Colorado chapter publicly attacked anti-choice ideologue James Dobson. While this might seem like a victory for the pro-choice movement, I’m asking you to join me in taking a stand: We will not let Colorado’s anti-choice movement re-organize on our watch. A new group, Colorado Citizens for Life, has been tapped as the new state affiliate of National Right to Life. Yet according to media reports, that group is just starting to build: The Rocky Mountain News reports that founder Pat Miller said the "new group has just begun to organize 'from scratch' by sending out letters to about 200 people they know are sympathetic to their cause" (6/14/07). Join us in countering their efforts to restrict a woman’s right to choose: Help us grow the pro-choice movement in Colorado to expand our network of Coloradans who believe in full reproductive freedom. Our goal is to identify 50,000 Coloradans who agree that every woman has a fundamental right to access the full range of reproductive health care services, including safe, legal abortion. Please support our efforts today to build a grassroots community of pro-choice Coloradans. We won’t sit back while Colorado's anti-choice groups debate whether to pursue an all-or-nothing strategy or incremental-restriction approach to deny women their right to choose. The time to strengthen our movement is now – before these groups have the chance to re-organize! Thank you for all you do to support reproductive rights and health in Colorado! For choice, Kathryn Wittneben Executive Director
