Sample Letter to your Representative:

Subject: Vote Yes on SB 03, Concerning Medicaid Family Planning Pilot Program

Dear Rep. [Rep. Name],

As one of your constituents, I’m very excited about Senate Bill 03 (Boyd, Riesberg), “Concerning the Medicaid Family Planning Pilot Program.” I’m asking you to please vote yes on SB 03.

SB 03 will expand the family planning pilot program by increasing the income-eligibility limit for these vital reproductive health care services. This means low-income women and men who don’t otherwise qualify for Medicaid – but who cannot afford private health insurance – will be able to receive annual exams, medically accurate counseling about birth control, and screenings for HIV and other STDs when they receive preventative family planning services.

Increasing access to family planning care is critical to reducing unintended pregnancy in our state. By voting YES on SB 03, you will help ensure all Coloradans have access to the information and care they need to make responsible, informed decisions to prevent unintended pregnancy and bear healthy children.

I appreciate your consideration and again urge you to vote YES on SB 03. Please let me know how you cast your vote.

Thank you.
