STAND UP FOR CHOICE COMEDY EVENT DURING THE DNC
“The Hottest Political Party in Town” will be held at DC10 Lounge
DENVER (Aug. 14) – NARAL Pro-Choice Colorado’s “Stand Up for Choice” event on Wednesday, August 27, will include pro-choice supporters from the Denver area as well as delegates and visitors in town for the Democratic National Convention (DNC). Proceeds will support NARAL Pro-Choice Colorado’s efforts to re-elect pro-choice majorities to Colorado’s General Assembly and to elect more pro-choice officials – including a pro-choice president – in 2008. The event also will serve as a rally for those opposed to an outrageous constitutional amendment that has made the Colorado ballot in November – Amendment 48, the “Definition of Person” Amendment. Amendment 48 would extend legal rights to fertilized eggs and, if adopted, would put the government, lawyers, and courts into Coloradan’s personal lives. The extremists behind Amendment 48 admit they want to make Colorado “ground zero” in the abortion debate.
Stand Up for Choice will include entertainment from comedians Lynne Koplitz from Comedy Central and Nick@Nite’s “America’s Funniest Mom” Rubi Nicholas. Also in the mix will be updates from the DNC all evening, fabulous door prizes and free appetizers and a drink.
